FBI nabs man connected to Atlanta, Gangster Disciples in Denver

Officials have confirmed that FBI agents in Denver have arrested a man with ties to the Gangster Disciples who was recently indicted in Georgia.

DENVER -- Officials have confirmed that FBI agents in Denver have arrested a man with ties to the Gangster Disciples who was recently indicted in Georgia.

Meanwhile, they still seek one other.

Agents said 38-year-old Alvis O'Neal of Denver was arrested without incident on Friday following his April 28 indictment by a grand jury in the northern district of Georgia.

officials believe he acted on behalf of the gang, which was founded on Chicago's south side in the 1960s in various criminal activities.

He now faces charges in violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.

Shauntay "Shake" Lamarr Craig

While O'Neal is in custody, police continue to search for another suspect believed to be a "board member" of the Gangster Disciples - 38-year-old Shauntay Lamarr Craig - who they believe resides in Georgia.

Craig was also indicted on April 28 on federal charges related to gang activities. He is also the last remaining fugitive connected to these federal indictments.

He is described as a black male who is 5 feet 10 inches tall and 207 pounds with tattoos on his left and right arms, chest, right hand and left foot.

Those with information leading to the apprehension of Craig could be eligible for up to $10,000. Tipsters can contact the Atlanta field office of the FBI at 404-679-9000.
