ATLANTA — A firefighter was reportedly injured in a crash on Saturday morning, according to the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department.
On Monday, officials gave an update on the firefighter reporting he was recovering at the hospital.
Officials said the crew was returning to their firehouse after investigating a reported fire at a home on Deerwood Drive at 3rd Avenue SW when it happened. Two fire trucks smashed a firefighter in between them.
The firefighter reported chest injuries and was taken for treatment when the incident first occurred.
Fire officials add there was no fire at the residence.
