Firefighters battle flames at Woodstock apartment complex

Crews said the fire is now under control, and "units on the scene are continuing to hit hot spots and salvage property."

WOODSTOCK, Ga. — Firefighters from Cherokee Fire and Woodstock Fire were hard at work on Sunday fighting a blaze at the Brooke Mill Apartments in Woodstock.

Crews said the fire is now under control, and "units on the scene are continuing to hit hot spots and salvage property."

Thankfully, firefighters said there were no injuries. They did note, though, that "several animals have been removed from the structure, and firefighters are tending to them."

In the meantime, Downsby Lane, where the complex sits, is closed at Addison Way. If possible, avoid the area if you are driving by.

The images below, posted by Cherokee County Fire, show flames erupting from the roof of one of the buildings. As of now, there is no word on what caused the fire.
