ATLANTA — As the winter blues make way for the blossoms of spring, a surge of optimism is set to sweep across Georgia next month, according to a recent study conducted by Mixbook, a leading photobook company.

The study, which surveyed 3,000 individuals across the United States, showed varying peaks of positivity nationwide. Georgians are poised to hit their peak of optimism on April 2, about three months into the year.

The study also investigated why people feel hopeful. Overall, it found that 35% of people felt happy when they achieved personal goals, such as finishing a project or reaching a milestone. Other things, such as better managing money, improving health, or enjoying nicer weather, also helped people feel good.

In 2024, more people in Georgia felt hopeful than in previous years. This is a big change from 2020 when things were tough for many. The study showed that when people are positive, it helps create a supportive community. In fact, 89% of the people they asked said they naturally like being around positive people.

As Georgia's optimism grows, the study shows that people feel hopeful for about 171 days in a year. People are feeling more positive and hopeful overall, which is a great sign for Peach State's future.
