Investigation underway after Henry County inmate dies following medical emergency

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — A Henry County inmate has died after experiencing a medical emergency on Sunday, according to the sheriff's office.

According to Sheriff Reginald Scandrett, jail staff saw 47-year-old Cameron Moore experiencing a medical emergency and gave him medical aid. 

Moore was then taken to a local hospital, where he later died, the sheriff said. 

The Henry County Sheriff's Office will be investigating Moore's death. Law enforcement authorities said an official cause of death has not been determined. 

Moore had been in custody on aggravated stalking charges since August.
