Henry County Schools without Wi-Fi after 'suspicious activity' on network, superintendent says

Internet activity was officially cut across the district on Thursday, Nov. 9.

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — Henry County Schools continues to operate without Wi-Fi close to a week after "suspicious activity" was reported on the network, according to Superintendent Mary Elizabeth Davis in a video on Tuesday.

Internet activity was officially cut across the district on Thursday, Nov. 9.

While exact details on what that "suspicious activity" remains unclear, Davis said the adaptability of students, staff, and parents has heartened her.

She added that even without network capabilities, the district has continued to be able to operate schools and provide student services during that time.

What we do know is that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, the Georgia Emergency Management Agency, the Henry County Police Department, and other cybersecurity partners were alerted about the activity and are investigating.

Right now, there is no word on when the district's Wi-Fi capabilities will be restored.
