Two juveniles injured in Hogansville after gun goes off while being mishandled, police say

HOGANSVILLE, Ga. — Two juveniles were injured Saturday in Hogansville when a gun went off while being mishandled, police said.

According to the Hogansville Police Department, the two juveniles were shot "in extremities when a firearm that was being mishandled went off, discharging one round that struck both individuals." 

The incident happened on Boozer Street. There was no information on the condition of the two juveniles, or any identity information provided. It was not clear how old they were.

Police also did not detail if it was the two juveniles who were shot that were handling the gun when it went off, or possibly a third person with or near them.

"Officers and Troup County deputies are still on the scene conducting an investigation.  Anyone who has any information on this incident is urged to contact Officer Young at (706) 637-6648," Hogansville Police said on Facebook.
