Kim Kardashian’s Skims eyes Atlanta for one of first brick-and-mortar stores

Skims, the multi-billion-dollar shapewear, lounge and swim line founded by Kardashian, is planning to open in Atlanta's Lenox Square.

ATLANTA — Kim Kardashian is bringing her fashion brand to Atlanta.

Skims, the multi-billion-dollar shapewear, lounge and swim line founded by Kardashian, plans to open its first brick-and-mortar stores this year. The brand's expansion appears to include a location at Atlanta’s Lenox Square mall in Buckhead.

A building permit application has been submitted to the City of Atlanta for a nearly 5,000-square-foot space inside the shopping center with “Skims Suite” listed as the project description.

The design firm listed for the project, New York City-based Kenneth Park Architects, is the firm working on Skims' planned shop in Washington, D.C.'s Georgetown neighborhood, according to a report by Chronicle sister publication Washington Business Journal.

Construction at the Atlanta store is estimated to cost $600,000, per the application.

A Skims spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Kardashian, the reality TV star and entrepreneur, plans to open the first Skims store in Los Angeles' West Hollywood neighborhood, according to a report from CoStar.

Kardashian’s Skims products, praised for size inclusivity, debuted in 2019. Her line now includes women’s and men’s clothing and is available at a price point that is more accessible than some similar fashion brands.

Lenox Square, owned by Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group, is a shopping mecca of Georgia’s capital. It is home to traditional retail mainstays such as Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus, along with newer faces like Aritizia and luxury boutiques including Gucci and Balenciaga.
