Man dies in fire at Stone Mountain personal care facility, officials say

​Crews said they were sent out to the home around 10:43 p.m. Saturday.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A man is dead after a fire on Hidden Hills Trace in Stone Mountain Saturday, according to DeKalb County Fire officials.

Crews said they were sent out to the home around 10:43 p.m.

They add that the man who died was entrapped in the building, which fire crews learned was a "personal care facility."

According to Captain Jaeson Daniels with DeKalb Fire and Rescue, a total of nine individuals were in the home at the time of the fire. The other eight were able to escape.

At this time, it is unknown what started the fire in the first place.
