Shelia Joyner - Tried to send son to Macon with Craigslist Stanger

MARIETTA, Ga. -- A Marietta mom is charged with contributing to the deprivation of a minor after she allegedly used Craigslist to try and send her 9-year-old child to visit his grandparents.

According to a Cobb County warrant, Shelia Sherrie Joyner answered a Craigslist ad of a stranger wanting to drive to Sarasota, Florida, to share expenses. Joyner wanted to

send her 9-year-old son with him to drop the child off with his grandparent in Macon.

The warrant states Joyner never met the man from the ad, only communicated with him by text messages and only knew his name as "Eric".

The warrant also claims Joyner sent her son with a babysitter to meet the stranger at a gas station, and did not go herself. Joyner apparently lied to the babysitter, saying it was a friend of hers.

The man from the Craigslist ad got concerned at the response to his ad and called police. Police were at the gas station when the babysitter and child arrived.
