Reward of up to $10K offered for information on suspect in armored truck robbery case

Authorities set up a perimeter in hopes of finding the suspect, but he wasn't located.

MARIETTA, Ga. -- Police are investigating after an armored truck was robbed at a gas station in Marietta Tuesday.

Marietta Police spokesperson and officer Chuck McPhilamy said the crime happened just after noon at the QuikTrip at the corner of Powder Springs Street and Sandtown Road.

McPhilamy said the truck was there either making a delivery or a pick-up.

"When our officers arrived and speaking with that Loomis employee, the armored car vehicle driver, he stated that a man approached him, stated that he had a gun and demanded that he give him the bag of cash," McPhilamy said.

It appears that the robber was on foot. Authorities set up a perimeter in hopes of finding the man, but he wasn't located.

Loomis Armored is offering a reward up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect.

Officers said he was last seen wearing a green shirt, khaki cargo pants, and has black shoes. Anyone with information about this crime, contact the police.
