District Attorney: He took her in the woods to have sex. She was under 16 years old.

MCDONOUGH, Ga. — A  Locust Grove man will have to spend the next few decades behind bars after a judge sentenced him to life with the first 30 years in prison for a sex crime.

Gabriel Ahmed, 35, was accused of having sex with a child.The Henry County District Attorney's Office said he pleaded guilty in court Monday to one count of aggravated child molestation and two counts of child molestation.

Officials said in 2017, Ahmed had sex with a girl under the age of 16 in the woods behind a McDonough home. 

The child took the stand during the plea hearing and told judge Holly W. that Ahmed took advantage of her, according to the district attorney's office.

This man preyed upon this child,” District Attorney Darius Pattillo said. “The child and her family are satisfied that he will spend the next three decades in prison and be a registered sex offender for life.”

As a part of his sentence, Ahmed is not allowed to have contact with the victim.
