'He's not OK': Wife concerned after her husband disappeared from his job in Norcross nearly 2 weeks ago

Norcross Police said they tracked down surveillance video at a business next door that showed him walking along a fence line and then sitting down.

NORCROSS, Ga. — A husband, father of two and counselor at his local church is missing.

Marvin Harkess, a 46-year-old from Snellville, hasn't been seen or heard from since Feb 2. when he showed up to work at Adapthealth at 5901 Goshen Springs Road in Norcross.

On Wednesday, his wife, Beatrice Diaz-Harkess, said Norcross Police had searched the area and even called in a helicopter to assist in the search, but so far, there has been no sighting of her husband.

Beatrice said police were able to track down surveillance video from a business next door, which showed Marvin walking along a fence line.

She said that is the last time her husband has been seen since he left their home in Snellville that morning.

"He left everything behind," Beatrice explained.

She said Marvin had been sick with the flu but was insistent on going back to work that Friday morning. The missing man's wife said he didn't look like he was 100% back to normal but said he was feeling OK to go back to work.

"We hugged, we kissed like every day, and he said, 'I'll see you later,' and that was it," she said.

Beatrice said he clocked in that morning. His boss mentioned Marvin walked out back and saw him on the phone. She said after a little bit when he didn't come back inside, his boss walked back outside and noticed he was gone.

Beatrice said Marvin's work van was still parked in its spot, and his lunchbox was locked inside. During a search, both his personal and work phones were found in a nearby wood line. His work jacket was then found in a dumpster across the street behind a church.

As Norcross Police continued to search for clues, they tracked down surveillance video at a business next door that showed him walking along a fence line and then sitting down.

Beatrice said the video is worrisome because Marvin doesn't appear to be acting like himself.

"The way he's acting, he don't seem like he was in his set mind," she explained, adding, "That is not like him at all."

Beatrice said Marvin has never just disappeared. She said knowing he's out there without a jacket and no phone is concerning.

"He's not OK, this is not his character, this is not who he is," she said.

Marvin is a pathfinder counselor at his church in Conyers -- Conyers Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Anyone with information on Marvin's whereabouts is asked to call Norcross Police at 770-448-2111.
