STONE MOUNTAIN, GA - DeKalb Police are searching for a suspect in a fatal shooting that took place at a Chevron gas station Tuesday night.
Just before 9:00 p.m., officers responded to 4766 Redan Rd. for reports of a person shot. When they arrived, they found one victim that was deceased and police believe there was another victim but did not locate them.
Witnesses told police that the victim and the suspect got into a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation which then lead to shots fired.
Both the suspect and the deceased fired at each other. As the suspect was fleeing the scene, a third party started shooting at the suspect.
The deceased is a black male in his mid-twenties.
There were no other injuries reported and there are no suspects in custody.
Lt. Shane Stanfield believes the suspects did not know each other prior to the incident.
