Stay-at-home mom gives other parents a free break

While parents drink a complimentary cup of coffee, Campbell does crafts and plays games with the children.

EAST POINT, Ga. — A mother with a mission to help other parents is doing just that.

“I’m a relatively new stay-at-home mom, and always wished I had somewhere to go and take a break for a couple of hours, so I decided to do it for others,” said Phadrea Campbell.

Campbell held her first "Parent Time Off" Monday afternoon at the Kupcakerie in East Point.

“The parents can come in, grab a cup of coffee, catch up on emails, whatever they need to do while we watch the kids,” said Campbell.

While parents drink a complimentary cup of coffee, Campbell does crafts and plays games with the children. The children are also given snacks.

As of now, Campbell said the event will be held once a month, but hopes to provide the service more frequently in the future.

“I’m sure once parents start to learn about it, we’ll need to do it more. Maybe every week,” said Campbell.
