A 47-year-old was killed Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Lawrenceville Highway in unincorporated Tucker.

According to Gwinnett County Police, the preliminary investigation revealed that 18-year-old Habeeb Lami of Tucker was traveling westbound on Lawrenceville Highway towards Lilburn when his grey Toyota Camry struck the driver side door of 47-year-old Angus Reid of Lilburn after attempting to turn left onto Braxton Place.

Reid was traveling eastbound on Lawrenceville Highway towards Tucker in a white Chevrolet Impala.

Both drivers were transported to a local hospital where Reid died from his injuries. Lami received treatment for minor injuries and was later released.

Both vehicles were impounded to Gwinnett County Police Headquarters for further analysis.
