Friend of teen shot in Lawrenceville has message for other young people

Friend of Lawrenceville teens involved in New Year's Eve shooting wants others to take guns more seriously.

"Like he came to my room at 1:15 in the morning. And I was like why are you still up, he said ah I am just kind of sad. About, my friends they are just dying," Rhonda Bennett said.

Rhonda Bennett's 15-year-old son Braden Bennett. Has not had an ideal 2018

"It made me angry, because you're not suppose to play around with gun's and stuff," Braden Bennett said.

Braden attended school with Chad Carless, the 17-year-old who was fatally shot by a friend who was playing with a gun.

"We talked to each other a lot and he was like a cool person to me," Braden said.

Braden is still mourning the lost of another friend, who was playing with a gun.

"I lost two people in the last few months. And a lot of people are dying," Braden said.

For Braden, who doesn't want to lose another friend, his message to his friends is this.

"Don't just be pointing around to flex with it. Because it can go off and cause hurt in somebody's life," Braden said.
