Man shot multiple times leaving Atlanta restaurant, police say

Police said the victim had just left JJ's Fish & Chicken on Pryor Road when two men opened fire.

ATLANTA — Police say a man is recovering from multiple gunshot wounds after leaving a restaurant in Southwest Atlanta.

Preliminary reports suggest that, around 11 p.m. on Sunday police responded to a call of a person shot at Pryor Road and University Avenue SW. They arrived to find the victim with several gunshot wounds.  He was taken to an area hospital and was alert, conscious and breathing according to police.

Police believe the victim had just left JJ's Fish & Chicken at 1192 Pryor Rd. when he was shot. He then drove away from the scene to 180 University Avenue - a Texaco Station - where he called police.

Atlanta Police are still looking into the circumstances of the shooting. This is a developing story. Check back for updates as they become available.
