Actor-singer David Cassidy is in a Florida hospital with organ failure, his representative Jo-Ann Geffen confirmed Saturday.
Although he is no longer in a coma, as first reported by TMZ, he remains in critical condition and in need of a liver transplant.
Geffen told USA TODAY he is surrounded by family.
Cassidy, 67, who rose to TV fame with The Partridge Family, announced in February 2017 he was battling dementia.
He acknowledged the diagnosis in an interview with People magazine, saying he watched his grandfather struggle with dementia and saw his mother “disappear” from it as well.
Cassidy has two children, daughter Katie, 30, and son Beau, 26.
