ORANGE COUNTY, N.C. — A North Carolina teenager who was killed in a double murder was shot seven times, an autopsy report showed.
In September 2022, a group riding ATVs found the bodies of 18-year-old Devin Clark at 14-year-old Lyric Woods on Buckhorn Road.
Clark was a senior at Eastern Alamance High School and Woods was a freshman at Cedar Ridge High School.
It took weeks to locate the shooting suspect who was 17 years old at the time.
Investigators later identified that shooter as Isaiah Ross when they announced he would be charged as an adult.
The autopsy said Woods was shot twice in the back, twice in her neck, twice in her arm, and once in the hand. The report also said she was grazed by a bullet.
As the motive behind the killings remains unknown, two families are left riddled with grief.
Earlier this year, Clark's mother said, "We got a little piece of justice done. It's a little bit of closure but it's not a lot because we have a lot more we have to solve in this case," she said. "I didn't know Lyric but I know of her now since this happened she seemed like she was a really good girl. She played volleyball and she had to be a wonderful girl for her to be Devin's friend."
