Early voting starts today across Georgia for November local elections

There will be three weeks of early voting and two mandated Saturdays ahead of Election Day on Nov. 7.

ATLANTA — It doesn't come with the pizzazz of a presidential election or mid-terms year, but in many ways they actually have more of an impact on your day-to-day life - local elections.

They're coming up for various communities around Atlanta and across Georgia in November, and the state's early voting period begins Monday.

By law there will be three Monday-Friday weeks of early voting starting with this week, and two mandated Saturday early voting days on Oct. 21 and Oct. 28.

You'll have to check your local city or county election website for details on times and places for early voting.

Communities will be on things such as mayors, city councilmembers and education board members. In Atlanta this year, for instance, there are five Atlanta Public Schools Board of Education seats up for a vote.
