ATLANTA — Democratic presidential candidate and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren is planning a campaign appearance in Lawrenceville next Saturday afternoon as she begins to push across the nation.

This marks the first time any of the announced major 2020 Democratic presidential candidates have made a stop in metro Atlanta.

Warren is heading to Georgia as part of a campaign swing this week that takes her through several early voting states including South Carolina, Nevada and California -- whose presidential primary has shifted to an early March slot from a much later date in the cycle.

Warren officially announced her 2020 candidacy on Saturday in Lawrence, Mass., and is visiting New Hampshire and Iowa this weekend.

She is one of a growing field of Democratic candidates looking to take on President Donald Trump for the White House in 2020.
