Another day, another four-star commit for the Georgia Bulldogs. After an amazing haul of commits just a few weeks ago, Kirby Smart decided to keep the momentum rolling and added Tymon Mitchell to the Class of 2019.

Mitchell fills a huge need for the Bulldogs up front, as the 6-foot-3, 285-pound recruit out of Franklin Road Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, is a true defensive tackle. Mitchell told UGASports.com in May that he was very impressed with the defense that Georgia runs and how he could see himself fitting in quite well.

“I was down there for spring practice. It was a good visit. I finally got to go down there and see everything for myself. I have a great relationship with Coach [Tray] Scott and Coach Smart," Mitchell said. “They run the 3-4 defense, and that's the scheme we run at my school, so we run the same defense and I would be able to do some of the same stuff I do in high school. Play some nose, play a little bit of end, kind of a hybrid type.”

One thing that stood out to Mitchell was the fact that Scott, the UGA defensive line coach, was actually the one recruiting him, whereas some other colleges just match up the recruits with coaches responsible for their geographic area.

"It is a little different at Georgia,” Mitchell told UGASports.com “You go to some other schools and you don't talk straight to the position coach, but Coach Scott, he really makes it a point to recruit the defensive tackles himself.”

Mitchell held offers from both Vanderbilt and Tennessee, but even with both in-state schools vying for the four-star, Mitchell decided that Georgia was the best fit for him moving forward.

Mitchell is the 18th commit for the Class of 2019 and is the 12th ranked defensive tackle in the nation. To top it all off, Mitchell is the ninth commit for the Bulldogs since July 15th and is the eighth four-star or better prospect in that same time frame.
