Here's what the Braves loaded up on 'Truck Day'

The team loaded equipment for the trip to Florida as Spring Training approaches.

ATLANTA — It's an annual sign baseball is back on the horizon, the game shaking off the cobwebs and emerging out of hibernation to tell us spring is on the way -- a bit like the sports version of Groundhog Day, only Blooper doesn't check for his shadow.

Monday is "Truck Day," the day when the Braves pack up their equipment to send to Florida for Spring Training.

It comes as pitchers and catchers will report in just 10 days, on Feb. 15.

As the Braves set off for North Port, they shared some of what they packed up on Monday (obviously, this isn't everything):

  • 1,200 bags of sunflower seeds
  • 400 pairs of pants
  • 100 helmets
  • 12 pairs of catching gear
  • 8 rolling racks
