NASCAR driver Ross Chastain doing driver safety discussion with Clayton County Police ahead of race weekend

It's taking place on Friday, Feb. 23 at Tara Stadium (located at 1055 Battlecreek Rd. in Jonesboro).

ATLANTA — NASCAR driver Ross Chastain will participate in a driver safety discussion with the Clayton County Police Department ahead of the Ambetter 400 race weekend.

The department posted about the event on Facebook. It's taking place on Friday, Feb. 23 at Tara Stadium (located at 1055 Battlecreek Rd. in Jonesboro).

"Please join us on February 23, 2024 from 11a - 1p at Tara Stadium to discuss driver safety with Nascar Driver Ross Chastain! This is an event you don't want to miss  See you there," CCPD posted.

Chastain made the NASCAR Playoffs last year, finishing 9th overall for the season and memorably finished 2nd in 2022 after reaching the Championship Four on a daredevil slingshot move along the track wall.

Chastain was also in second place in this week's season-opening Dayton 500 but wrecked toward the end of the race and finished 21st.

The Ambetter 400 is taking place Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway at 3 p.m.
