The team announced a wide-ranging agreement with the YMCA of Metro Atlanta that will see the iconic "Y" logo appear on Hawks jerseys starting Tuesday.

ATLANTA — The Atlanta Hawks on Monday announced a multi-year partnership with the YMCA of Metro Atlanta that will see the organization be the team's jersey patch sponsor.

The team announced a wide-ranging agreement with the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, which will include beyond the iconic "Y" logo appearing on Hawks jerseys the team's involvement with the Y's youth programming, campaigns in support of the Y's membership recruitment and fundraising and basketball initiatives with the Y.

"The Hawks will also support the Y in a variety of causes in which they share passion: urgent community needs, promoting social responsibility and uplifting inclusive communities with strong DEI values," a release said.

Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena CEO Steve Koonin said the team was "honored to partner with such an esteemed global organization with a strong local presence and use our platform to help them serve the youth and families of Atlanta through service, resources, and sport."

“Everything the YMCA of Metro Atlanta does is grounded in meeting the unique needs of communities – and we can’t do it alone. We’re grateful to partner with the Atlanta Hawks. Together we can increase access and involvement and provide the opportunity for more people to discover their potential and thrive,” Lauren Koontz, president and CEO of the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, added in a statement. “We’re proud to partner with an organization that has shared values of impacting the lives of Atlantans through providing access to youth sports, and curating community programming.”

The "Y" logo will begin appearing on the team's jerseys starting with Tuesday night's game against the Indiana Pacers.

Hawks star Trae Young commented on the announcement on X, writing: "Back to where the game started for me.. so surreal!"

"Back like you never left!! We are grateful to have you as a partner and a Y kid!" the YMCA of Metro Atlanta account wrote in response.
