ATLANTA — The Atlanta Dream are riding the wave of surging excitement in women's basketball, as they announced this week they're the second team in WNBA history to sell out their season ticket allotment.

The announcement came on the heels of the team having to geo-restrict single-game presales to make sure fans get them instead of resellers. The team said it will be launching a Dream Elite Priority List on Tuesday for fans who want to get on a season ticket wait list.

The Dream last season returned to the playoffs for the first time since 2018, with No. 1 overall pick Rhyne Howard injecting a new electricity in to the team. The 23-year-old guard scored 17.5 points per game and won the Rookie of the Year award.

The Dream combined her in the backcourt with Allisha Gray, who also scored just over 17 a game after joining Atlanta from Dallas, for a new-look offense under Coach Tanisa Wright.

“After making the playoffs for the first time in five years last season, our fans have carried that momentum into 2024. Excitement around women’s sports, particularly basketball, is at an all-time high and nowhere is that felt more than here in Atlanta,” Dream President and COO Morgan Shaw Parker said in a statement. “We’ve continued a record-setting growth trajectory over the past three years under new ownership – both on and off the court – and 2024 is shaping up to be our best season yet.”

The Dream are among the WNBA teams catching fire with ticket interest this season coming off a college season that was among the most widely-followed in history. Iowa star Caitlin Clark and Kamilla Cardoso from national champions South Carolina were among the top three picks, providing added starpower punch to the coming WNBA season.

Fans here in Georgia as well as in Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina and North Carolina can still buy single-game tickets through Wednesday. The geo-restriction will be lifted to a general public sale that day.

The Dream also noted in a team release that partial season ticket packages are still available here.
