Lanes reopen after tractor-trailer hits Delk Road Bridge in Cobb County

GDOT crews have closed the southbound lanes to clean up the crash.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — All lanes are back open following a tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 75 in Cobb County, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation on Saturday morning. 

11Alive Meteorologist Andrew Wilson was on the way to work and witnessed the crash, stating that an 18-wheeler hit the side of the Delk Road Bridge and flipped onto its side. GDOT crews have closed the southbound lanes to clean up the crash. 

GDOT said crews were called to the area around 5 a.m. and expected to have roads open by 8 a.m. 

Wilson said he stopped and helped the driver who was not seriously injured, up and able to walk around. Drivers were being diverted to an off-ramp. Authorities have not said what led to the crash or added any other details.
