Crash closes lanes on I-75 in Cobb County

All lanes were being held around 10:40 a.m. on I-75 South while two left lanes were also blocked on I-75 North.

A wreck with a significant first responder presence has closed all lanes of I-75 South in Cobb County on Wednesday morning.

The incident happened in between Allgood Road and Marietta Parkway on I-75. For a time, lanes on I-75 North were also closed.

Traffic cameras around 11:30 a.m. showed traffic still halted in the southbound lanes. Several police vehicles remained on scene, as fire and ambulance vehicles had earlier left.

Marietta Police said its officers were working the scene and that there were injuries in the crash.

According to Marietta PD, there was an initial minor accident between two cars. While those two cars were stopped on the shoulder of the interstate, a third vehicle came and hit them.

Police said that third driver, who hit the stopped cars, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
