The Georgia State Patrol says last week's accident with a truck pulling a yacht on I-75 was caused when the driver of that truck passed out behind the wheel.
An incident report released on Tuesday says when the driver passed out, he lost control of his vehicle and it veered into the concrete barrier next to the right shoulder of the highway.
The truck skidded along the barrier and slammed into a construction truck parked on the shoulder, pushing it further along before coming to a rest. The driver of the construction vehicle was not in his truck at the time and avoided serious injury.
The driver of the truck carrying the yacht was the one who was reported to be seriously injured in the wreck. He was taken to Kennestone Hospital in critical condition. His condition is not presently known.
