Aside from a few areas of rain, the next 24 hours stay pretty quiet.

Rain chances improve late Wednesday as a cold front approaches from the northwest. A more organized cluster of storms will move in late Wednesday night through Thursday morning.

Storms will move southeast through the morning, eventually clearing in the middle of the day for a lull before the next round of rain arrives.

Storms late Wednesday through Thursday could be capable of producing heavy rain, gusty winds, and hail.  The tornado threat is low but not zero.

For Wednesday night, metro Atlanta is included in the marginal (level 1) severe weather threat, and the higher slight (level 2) threat covers NW portions of the state.

The slight (level 2) threat covers most of our area, Atlanta metro included, on Thursday.
