Discussion:
We enjoyed sunshine through the weekend, but rain is back in the forecast for the start of the week. An incoming storm system will bring scattered showers and isolated storms Monday and Tuesday.
Scattered showers will move in around the time of sunrise on Monday, so it's very possible the morning commute is a soggy one. Rain should be mainly light, but a few pockets of heavy rain are possible.
Rain clears slowly through the second half of the day. Isolated showers will linger, but the afternoon will be much drier.
A couple embedded thunderstorms can't be ruled out, but temperatures on Monday should keep storm development low. Highs will only warm to the upper 60s and low 70s.
The storm threat is slightly higher for Tuesday but still limited.
We are included in the Storm Prediction Center's marginal (level 1) risk for severe weather. Mainly south of I-20 Monday then the entire area Tuesday. Isolated storms may be capable of producing heavy rain, gusty winds, and hail.
Although rain will be hit-and-miss Monday afternoon, activity picks back up overnight. Showers and storms will be more widespread on Tuesday.
On-and-off rain is expected on Tuesday. A ew showers may linger into Wednesday as well, but we dry out for the middle of the week.
As sun returns, temperatures warm. Highs climb into the upper 70s by Wednesday and the low to mid 80s on Thursday. Humidity will also be on the rise, and much muggier conditions are expected for the end of the week.
