Discussion:
A warm front has pushed in humid air, and an incoming cold front will provide better lift for storm development through tonight.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed a slight (level 2) risk for severe weather north of I-20 and a marginal (level 1) risk across the rest of the state. Isolated storms may be capable of producing heavy rain, gusty winds, and hail. The tornado threat is very low but not zero.
Rain stays isolated, but storms that do develop are more likely to become strong or severe. Activity will likely pick up in the evening.
We expect the shower and storm activity to continue through around midnight. Then showers and storms will exit the area.
A few showers linger through the day on Wednesday.
Rain chances Wednesday will be much lower, and we'll also manage to mix in some sunshine with the cloud cover. You'll still want to keep the umbrella close by, but many stay dry.
Temperatures warm to near 80° Wednesday afternoon. The warmth intensifies as clouds and rain are swapped for sunshine Thursday.
Humidity will also be on the rise, and much muggier conditions are expected for the end of the week.
We stay dry Thursday, but rain chances are back in the forecast Friday. Scattered showers and isolated storms are expected for the start of the weekend.
