ATLANTA — We have been in a stretch of above-average temperatures for November so far, but that will all change for this weekend.
We will start off with mild conditions on Saturday with lows in the 50s and highs in the 60s for the early afternoon, but as we move into the latter part of the afternoon our temperatures will drop into the 50s.
These cooler conditions will move in behind a cold front that will also bring a slight chance for rain on Saturday.
The temperatures will really fall for Saturday night and into early Sunday morning. Lows will be in the 30s across north Georgia with a northwest wind at 10-15 mph causing wind chill values to be in the 20s.
With temperatures this low, you will want to make sure you take care of people, pets and plants. Make sure the people around you have a way to stay warm, make sure pets have a dry and warm shelter for the overnight with water that won't freeze, and make sure you cover plants for areas north of the Atlanta metro, where a freeze is likely.
We will continue with the chill overnight lows throughout the next week with lows in the 30s and 40s each evening. The average low is 46°F this time of year and we will be below that each night after Saturday.
Our afternoon highs will also be well below average with 50s expected each day throughout the next week when our average high is 66°F this time of year.
