JASPER, Ga. — This is not a drill - some north Georgia residents appear to be waking up Friday morning to a sprinkling of snow.

"Remain calm," the National Weather Service tweeted. "But it looks like flakes may be flying this morning across portions of Pickens and Gilmer counties."

Viewers in the 11Alive StormTrackers group posted a couple photos of slight accumulations in Jasper. 11Alive also has a camera in Blue Ridge showing the live snowfall:

The NWS said flurries would be possible in parts of the north Georgia area into the mid-morning Friday, but that "meaningful accumulation (anything more than a dusting) is unlikely with this wave."

So, no "Snowmageddon" in Atlanta to worry about, but it's always fun to see a few flakes in the region.
