Thunderstorms moving into north Georgia on Friday | Updates

ATLANTA — Thunderstorms return to north Georgia on Friday with gusty winds possible at times. The 11Alive StormTrackers are tracking a line of thunderstorms moving into north Georgia through the morning and into the early afternoon.

Winds in a few of the thunderstorms could produce winds up to 58 mph and heavy rainfall. An isolated brief spin-up cannot be ruled out. 

Rain is pushing into northwest Georgia before dawn, then spread southeast through the morning, and is expected to clear by the later afternoon.

12 p.m. | Here's a look at the radar as storms and rain move through north Georgia. 

10:33 a.m. | Cleburne County and Randolph County, Alabama, are under a severe thunderstorm watch until noon. 

10:18 a.m. | 11Alive meteorologist Melissa Nord provided a weather update for parts of Paulding and Cobb counties: 

9:34 a.m. | Dime-size hail was reported in north Rome and also in southeast Floyd off Chulio Road, according to Floyd County Emergency Management.

9:30 a.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Bartow and Floyd counties until 10:15 a.m. Damaging winds up to 60 mph are possible.

9:12 a.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 10 a.m. for Floyd, Carroll, Polk, and Haralson Counties.

9:02 a.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 10 a.m.  EDT for Cleburne County, Alabama.

8:27 a.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for parts of Chattooga and Floyd counties until 9:15 a.m.
