ATLANTA, Ga -- Two gang members received life-plus-60-year sentences on Tuesday for killing a man in front of his daughter in 2014.

According to the Fulton County district attorney's office, Jamal Chandler, 30, and Andreas Perkins, 20, were convicted on charges of murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault, cruelty to children and other charges.

On January 26, 2014, Chandler and Perkins planned to rob the victim, Randy Menefee, who was a local drug dealer in Atlanta. The two men entered Menefee’s apartment at 11:20 p.m. with guns drawn and masks covering their faces. Menefee was robbed, shot and killed in front of his 11-year-old daughter.

The defendants ran out of the home three minutes later with $136.

Police found an eyewitness near the scene who identified Chandler and Perkins as the men she saw cover their faces with the black masks outside of Menefee’s apartment building. Seconds later, she saw the men enter the apartment. Both men told police they were outside of the apartment building when they heard the gunshots and ran into Menefee’s apartment to render aid.

Evidence collected from the murder scene disputed their story.
