Restaurants coming behind Ansley Mall along BeltLine

The renovation will add large windows and an outdoor patio to the back of the building, as well as a refreshed breezeway leading into the mall.

ATLANTA — Selig Enterprises is carving a restaurant-lined entrance into the backside of Ansley Mall, part of its effort to draw potential customers into the shopping center from the BeltLine’s Northeast Trail.

The Atlanta-based developer plans to convert roughly 8,000 square feet of existing retail space into two restaurants, according to a Wednesday presentation delivered to the BeltLine's Design Review Committee. The renovation will add large windows and an outdoor patio to the back of the building, as well as a refreshed breezeway leading into the mall.

“As a landlord, we want to be proactive in dressing up [the back of the shopping center] and making that a more appealing component,” Vance Woodcox, project manager at Selig, told the committee.

The entrance will be paired with a new pedestrian bridge, providing a direct connection between the BeltLine and Ansley Mall by crossing over Clear Creek. The bridge is now under construction with completion expected next year.
