Atlanta Police working to identify suspects in 11-year-old's shooting

APD said three suspects discharged firearms at an 11-year-old boy on Jan. 14.

ATLANTA — Atlanta Police investigators are seeking help to identify three suspects in the shooting of an 11-year-old.

The incident stems from a report of a person shot on Jan. 14. Atlanta Police officers responded to the call at 6:18 p.m. that evening around the 3200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., according to a release.

When they got to the location, officers found an 11-year-old boy who had multiple gunshot wounds, police said. The 11-year-old was still alive and awake. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Preliminary information indicates the child was running from the three suspects and eventually hid in the area. He was found by the suspects, and all three discharged firearms -- striking the boy twice, police said.

A short video clip of the suspects from the Atlanta Police Department can be seen below.

Police said the investigation is active and ongoing.
