Dispute leads to deadly shooting inside of Decatur neighborhood, police say

DECATUR, Ga. — A 36-year-old man is dead after he was shot and killed inside of a Decatur neighborhood on Wednesday night, according to police.

DeKalb County Police said that officers responded to the 4600 block of Jakes Trail around 9:20 p.m. for a person shot call. They found the man dead from a gunshot wound when they got there.

The neighborhood is just off Snapfinger Road and Thompson Mill Road.

Police said the victim knew the suspect and was shot after a dispute between several parties escalated at the location. Detectives are currently interviewing the other parties involved and gathering information.
