ATLANTA — A teen is recovering at the hospital after police said someone shot him in the butt near an Atlanta apartment complex.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, it happened near the Retreat at Greenbriar Apartments on Colony Parkway. Police said a 17-year-old was walking home when he noticed a group of men and women at the front of the complex.
That's when police said the teen heard gunshots and noticed he was shot. He ran to his apartment and called 911, APD said.
Police previously reported that the teen said he saw four masked men. The men were fighting, and the teen went to intervene. That's when one of the men shot the teen in the butt.
Officers said they looked around the area but could not establish a crime scene and said the investigation is ongoing.
