Three dead in several shootings across metro Atlanta on Saturday morning: Police

This is what we know.

ATLANTA — Atlanta Police Department is investigating a series of shootings on Saturday morning that left three people dead, with one incident involving an off-duty college officer. 

Here's what we know: 

  • At least four shooting incidents since just before midnight.
  • Three were confirmed dead between two of the shootings.

Joseph E. Boone Blvd Shooting

  • Location: Joseph E. Boone Boulevard near Griffin Street. 
  • Time: Just before 1 a.m. 
  • Victims: Two men; one died at the scene, and the other later died at Grady Memorial Hospital.
  • The dispute occurred at the location, but details are still unclear.
  • Police are investigating and looking at the surveillance video.

Forsyth Street (Magic City) Shooting:

  • Location: 241 Forsyth Street (Magic City).
  • Time: around 3:51 a.m.
  • The 33-year-old man who was shot and killed is believed to be one of the aggressors.
  • Two groups were involved in shooting outside Magic City.
  • Off-duty Spelman College officer fired shots.
  • Police are investigating and looking at the surveillance video.

Maple Walk near Pryor Road shooting 

  • Location: 1775 Maple Walk Cir. SW.
  • Time: Around 11:52 p.m.
  • Victim: 17-year-old teen boy.
  • He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital. 
  • APD said the incident started from a dispute. 

Glenwood Avenue (Waffle House)

  • Location: 860 Glenwood Ave. SE.
  • Time: around 4:47 a.m.
  • Victim: 42-year-old man. 
  • Report of a person with a gunshot wound arriving at Grady Hospital by private vehicle.
  • Police later determined the shooting happened near a Waffle House.
