DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A woman will spend the next 10 years in prison after being convicted in DeKalb County for shooting a man because he wouldn't give her $30 for a beer run.

According to a release from DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston's office, 34-year-old Bianca Echols was convicted of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in the case.

It happened at a home outside Decatur in February 2021. The release said Echols showed up with beer and asked 41-year-old Michael Wilder for $30. The two had not previously known each other, and he declined.

When he eventually went to leave and was waiting on a rideshare, Echols "drove her car up to speak with him, and shot him several times as he was attempting to walk away." Wilder was found by police with multiple gunshot wounds and taken to Atlanta Medical Center for treatment, where he eventually met with officers and gave a description of Echols.

The DA's Office said the investigation found that within hours of the shooting, she was trying to sell a .40 caliber Glock handgun on social media. She was pictured with the same Glock on the day of the shooting, and shell casings at the scene were matched with a .40 caliber Glock.

In addition to the 10 years in prison, Echols will received five further years of probation with her sentence.
