Multiple shell casings found outside home where Troup County woman was shot and killed, sheriff's office says

Deputies went to a home on the 600 block of Teaver Road shortly after 2 a.m.

TROUP COUNTY, Ga. — A woman was shot and killed inside a home in Troup County early Saturday morning, the sheriff's office said. 

According to the Troup County Sheriff's Office, deputies went to a home on the 600 block of Teaver Road shortly after 2 a.m. regarding a person who had been shot and was not breathing. When they arrived, they found an adult woman suffering from a gunshot wound. Lifesaving measures were used, and the woman was sent to the hospital, where she later died, the sheriff's office said. 

The victim has since been identified as 41-year-old Taneshia Bridges. The sheriff's office said that multiple shell casings were found outside the home -- indicating a person or persons shot from the outside -- striking the woman who was inside. In addition, at the time of the shooting, another adult woman and a small child were also inside the home.
