All clear given at Fiserv building after police investigate 'possible armed person' inside

Police were not able to confirm that there was an actual armed person at Fiserv off Westside Parkway in Alpharetta when they responded.

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Police evacuated a building in Alpharetta Tuesday morning after they received a report of an armed person.

After investigating, the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety said they were not able to confirm that there was an actual armed person at Fiserv off Westside Parkway in Alpharetta when they responded just before 10 a.m.

"No shots have been fired, no injuries, this is not an active shooter," police said on social media.

At the time, they said there were "employees still hiding in the building" and that officers were checking floor-by-floor.

At around 10:50 a.m., officers gave the "all clear" and said no gunman was found.

They said they are still investigating how the alarm was activated and that "We have no reason to believe there is a dangerous armed person on the loose in our community."
