COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A 27-year-old Marietta man died yesterday in a motorcycle crash in Cobb County, police said.

The Cobb County Police Department said in a release that Trevion Oglesby was riding a 2017 Honda CBR500R motorcycle along Holly Springs Road south of the intersection with Davis Road when the crash occurred on Wednesday morning, March 13.

CCPD said Oglesby went into the center turn lane to pass another car making a right turn, but "for unknown reasons, lost control of the motorcycle and veered into the path" of an oncoming car.

The driver of the oncoming car tried to turn away into a private driveway to avoid the crash but the motorcycle "collided with the front left side" of that car.

Oglesby was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for life-saving efforts, but he was "pronounced deceased due to injuries sustained in the collision."

The driver of the oncoming car was not hurt.
