Indian Creek Elementary, Clarkston High placed on lockdown; no threat found

This is a developing story.

Two DeKalb schools were on lockdown for the majority of the day after students thought they saw two people with a rifle.

School officials say Indian Creek Elementary and Clarkston High were both placed on lockdown as a precaution. Clarkson Police tell 11Alive that DeKalb County Police are responding.

City of Clarkston Police also responded to the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf, which is down the road from Indian Creek, as a precaution.

DeKalb County Schools said they did not find any threat.

Below is a statement from the school district:

"The health and safety of students is always the number one priority at DeKalb County School District. This morning, students at Indian Creek Elementary believed they saw two individuals with a rifle. Out of an abundance of caution, DCSD has placed Indian Creek Elementary as well as nearby Clarkston High School on lockdown.

As of this time, nothing further has been reported.

DeKalb County Public Safety is working with local law enforcement to determine the severity and validity of these claims. "
