Kenny Rogers' former Athens estate auctioned off

The former Georgia estate of country music legend Kenny Rogers has been auctioned off.

ATHENS - The former Georgia estate of country music legend Kenny Rogers has been auctioned off.

The 973-acre estate, known as Beaver Dam Farms, was sold to a buyer in Texas in a July 9 auction, according to The Wilbert Group. (See photos below!)

The property features three private spring fed lakes, a 12,000-square foot mansion, five guest houses and a clubhouse, lake clubhouse, 2 acres under roof equestrian/multipurpose arena with 44 stalls, two swimming pools, two tennis courts and an 18-hole championship-rated golf course.

Rogers said the property served as a musical inspiration throughout his career.

While the Wilbert Group said the buyer and seller declined to discuss the price at which the property sold, its "estimated replacement cost" was said to be between $30 million and $40 million.

Rogers, who is in the midst of a farewell concert tour, has another home on the market. His Sandy Springs mansion can be yours for just under $3 million, according to Zillow.
