ATLANTA — Editor's note: The video in this story is from a previous report.

One person is dead and another is critically hurt following a shooting near Georgia Tech on Monday, the Atlanta Police Department said.

According to Atlanta Police, the shooting happened on Marietta Street just before 1:30 a.m.

Once on the scene, officers said they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound and transported him to the hospital in critical condition.

Officers then said they found a man dead in the breezeway of an apartment complex across the street who had also been shot. That person has since been identified as 17-year-old Jovuntae Vaughn, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office.

Early investigation by police appears to indicate that both men were involved in the same incident.

As of right now, officers said they're still working to iron out the details of what exactly happened. There is no word yet on any suspects.
