Atlanta 'shots fired' call leads to man dead in accident

Police and the medical examiner are still working to determine the victim's cause of death.

ATLANTA — A man is dead but details about what specifically killed him are unclear after a "shots fired" call led police to a crash and a deceased victim on Sunday.

Police spokesperson Marla Rooker said that around noon on Sunday, police responded to the 700 block of Garibaldi Street in reference to gunfire.  Upon arriving at the scene, police found a deceased male who had been involved in an accident. Police believe he was intentionally hit.

The medical examiner is now working to determine the victim's cause of death. Police haven't said whether the victim was shot in addition to injuries sustained from the accident.

Police are still investigating the incident and the circumstances surrounding it.
